Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service with high accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel to incident locations using CAD systems.
- Monitor multiple radio channels and computer-aided dispatch systems simultaneously.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all dispatch activities and calls.
- Provide critical information to responding officers to ensure their safety and the safety of the public.
- Assist the public with non-emergency inquiries and resource referrals.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driverβs License and a clean driving record required.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 40 wpm) and strong computer proficiency.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure during high-stress situations.
- Willingness to pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph, and medical exam.
