Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service via 911 and general lines.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents with accuracy and urgency.
- Enter and update incident reports, field notes, and status information into Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain effective radio communication with field units to provide real-time information and status updates.
- Monitor CCTV systems and street cameras to assist in locating missing persons or criminal activity.
- Perform general clerical duties, including answering phones, data entry, and filing records.
- Ensure strict adherence to all departmental policies, procedures, and legal guidelines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills (30+ WPM preferred).
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Previous experience in customer service, call center, or public safety is a plus but not mandatory.
