Responsibilities
- Call Handling: Receive, triage, and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service with accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch Coordination: Transmit information to law enforcement, fire, and medical units via radio and computer systems.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all calls and incidents in the CAD system.
- Information Relay: Provide timely information to officers in the field and assist the public with inquiries.
- Training Support: Assist senior dispatchers in training new hires and maintaining standard operating procedures.
- Emergency Management: Assist in the coordination of emergency response plans and disaster scenarios.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- License: Valid Colorado Driver's License required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Availability: Must be available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Stress Management: Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under high-pressure situations.
