Responsibilities
- Monitor radio frequencies and dispatch law enforcement, fire, and EMS units to scenes of emergencies and non-emergencies.
- Receive incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, assessing the nature and urgency of the situation.
- Input critical incident data into the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system accurately and efficiently.
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers until responders arrive on the scene.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness and communicate clearly with field personnel.
- Perform routine system checks and assist in the maintenance of dispatch equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 words per minute.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
