Responsibilities
- Monitor and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls via radio and telephone systems.
- Enter critical incident information accurately into Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain constant, clear, and professional communication with field units and other agencies.
- Provide vital information and assistance to the public and other city departments.
- Perform clerical duties, including filing, report preparation, and data entry.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record are mandatory.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to undergo a thorough background investigation and drug screening.
