Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Operate radio equipment and maintain accurate call logs
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (fire, EMS, law enforcement)
- Utilize NCIC and state databases for background checks
- Maintain calm demeanor during high-stress situations
- Document all communications per department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified test required)
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Proficiency with computer systems and multitasking
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must be US citizen or authorized to work
- No felony convictions
