Responsibilities
- Monitor and dispatch police units, fire services, and emergency medical units via radio and computer-aided dispatch systems.
- Receive and process incoming emergency 911 and non-emergency calls with high accuracy and composure.
- Enter detailed incident reports, suspect descriptions, and property information into the central records database.
- Coordinate with field officers and support agencies to ensure rapid response times and situational awareness.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to departmental policies during high-stress situations.
- Provide superior customer service to the public via telephone and face-to-face interactions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driverβs License with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- U.S. Citizenship and proof of residency in Hawaii are preferred.
