Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service via multi-line radio and telephone systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical units to incident locations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor and update status of all active calls, units, and personnel in the field.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of all dispatch activities and unit status.
- Coordinate with other city agencies and external partners during major incidents.
- Provide critical information to field personnel to ensure officer and citizen safety.
- Adhere to strict protocols and emergency response guidelines during high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain focus in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Proficient in basic computer operations and typing.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- No felony convictions (background check required).
