Responsibilities

  • Receive and prioritize incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service.
  • Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incident locations using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
  • Monitor and maintain continuous radio communications with field units and other agencies.
  • Enter and update incident reports, citations, and case information into the records management system.
  • Provide accurate directions and emergency instructions to callers until help arrives.
  • Collaborate with other city departments and regional emergency services during large-scale incidents.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Arizona Class D Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly over the phone.
  • Ability to type 35+ WPM and navigate computer systems with high accuracy.
  • Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under high-stress and emergency situations.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background investigation, medical examination, and drug screen.
