Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service via radio, telephone, and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement units and coordinate resources to incident scenes efficiently.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and maintain accurate logs of all calls and unit status.
- Provide critical information to callers, including directions, police status, and safety tips.
- Communicate effectively with field units, supervisors, and other agencies during high-stress situations.
- Verify and update incident information in the dispatch database in real-time.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure in emergency situations.
- Proficient in typing and basic computer operations (training provided).
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
