Responsibilities
- Receive and Process Calls: Answer emergency (911) and non-emergency lines, gathering critical information and assessing the situation.
- Dispatch Personnel: Relay accurate information to police officers, fire crews, and medical units in the field via radio.
- Manage Logs: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all dispatch activity and radio communications.
- Database Entry: Enter incident reports and data into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems efficiently.
- Coordinate Resources: Assist in coordinating mutual aid and inter-agency responses during major incidents.
- Support Operations: Assist senior dispatchers with training and administrative support tasks.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: No prior experience necessary. We provide full training.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly under pressure.
- Focus: Ability to multitask and maintain focus in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- License: Valid Driver's License required.
- Computer: Basic computer proficiency is preferred; willingness to learn new software is essential.
