Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to incoming emergency and non-emergency calls via radio and telephone.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to emergency scenes based on location and resources.
- Collect and transmit critical information to field personnel to ensure officer safety.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications and incidents.
- Assist in the preparation of incident reports and documentation.
- Perform administrative duties and assist the communications center during high-volume periods.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. Citizen.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
- Valid Illinois Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 30-40 wpm) and proficiency with computer systems.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a calm demeanor.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
