Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately record incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units to appropriate locations using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and maintain situational awareness of active incidents.
- Provide accurate information and instructions to callers to ensure their safety.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date logs and records of all calls and dispatches.
- Assist in the processing of warrants and subpoenas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Communications Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 30 words per minute).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in high-stress situations.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
