Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with high accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to appropriate locations.
- Monitor radio frequencies and coordinate field units in real-time.
- Maintain accurate incident logs and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) records.
- Provide critical information to callers, including medical dispatch instructions when applicable.
- Perform quality assurance checks on dispatch communications.
- Assist with community outreach and information requests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; post-secondary education in criminal justice or communications is a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Washington State Driverβs License required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type 35+ WPM accurately.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under extreme stress.
- Must be willing to undergo a thorough background investigation and drug screen.
