Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with empathy and professionalism
- Operate radio systems to coordinate field units during incidents
- Enter and maintain accurate incident data in CAD systems
- Provide critical information to officers and emergency services
- Remain calm and make sound decisions during high-stress situations
- Complete mandatory dispatcher certification training program
- Adhere to department policies and confidentiality protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- No felony convictions; clean background check
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
