Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response efforts including FEMA, CDC, and local healthcare providers
- Lead public risk communication strategies during health emergencies
- Manage emergency preparedness grants and budget allocations
- Conduct tabletop exercises and real-time response simulations
- Oversee volunteer coordination and resource deployment during crises
- Prepare federal compliance reports for disaster declarations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of emergency response experience in government/nonprofit sectors
- FEMA Professional Development Series certification required
- Advanced knowledge of ICS (Incident Command System) and NIMS protocols
- Proven crisis communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing federal grant-funded projects ($500K+)
- Ability to obtain Colorado Public Health Emergency Response clearance
- Valid Colorado driver's license with clean record
