This critical role drives data-driven strategies to address health disparities, coordinate emergency preparedness responses, and lead community health assessments across Northeast Florida. Work collaboratively with federal partners and local agencies to implement evidence-based solutions that transform public health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive community health needs assessments and epidemiological surveillance
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health intervention programs
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses with FEMA and CDC protocols
- Analyze health data using SPSS/R to identify trends and recommend policy changes
- Manage grant-funded health initiatives and ensure compliance with federal reporting requirements
- Train public health staff on data visualization tools and health informatics
- Present findings to city council, community stakeholders, and federal agencies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health or Epidemiology required
- 3+ years of experience in government/public health sector
- Certified Public Health Professional (CPH) credential preferred
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Experience with CDC surveillance systems and grant management
- Knowledge of Florida public health statutes and federal regulations
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
