The Texas Department of State Health Services urgently seeks a Public Health Emergency Response Coordinator to protect Fort Worth and North Texas communities. This critical role requires rapid deployment during disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and bioterrorism threats. You'll lead cross-agency incident command operations, coordinate mass vaccination clinics, and develop emergency response protocols. Responsibilities
- Activate and lead public health emergency operations centers during crises
- Coordinate multi-agency response plans with FEMA, CDC, and local hospitals
- Execute mass prophylaxis/vaccination campaigns within 72-hour activation windows
- Develop community-level emergency preparedness training programs
- Analyze epidemiological data to direct resource allocation
- Manage crisis communication with public and media stakeholders
- Conduct post-incident reviews and update response protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Incident Command System (ICS-300) certification required
- Experience with NIMS/SEMS frameworks and federal grant reporting
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work 24/7 shifts during emergencies with minimal notice
- Bilingual English/Spanish certification strongly preferred
- Successful background clearance for federal security clearance
