Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting disease prevention and health promotion
- Conduct epidemiological investigations and analyze health data to identify emerging health threats
- Collaborate with community partners, healthcare providers, and local government agencies to coordinate public health responses
- Prepare comprehensive reports on health trends and program outcomes for state and federal agencies
- Provide public health education through workshops, media outreach, and community presentations
- Manage grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities and public health crisis response
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health program implementation or epidemiological work
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS)
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel throughout San Antonio region
- Experience with grant writing and federal/state reporting requirements
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) designation highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex data clearly
