Responsibilities
- Develop and execute evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and inform strategic interventions
- Collaborate with local health departments, community organizations, and state agencies to coordinate response efforts
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives to build coalitions for health policy advocacy
- Manage grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and reporting requirements
- Conduct community needs assessments and program evaluations using quantitative/qualitative methods
- Represent the department in intergovernmental meetings and public health forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field with 3+ years of experience
- Valid Kentucky Public Health Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Demonstrated experience in grant writing and federal/state program compliance
- Strong background in health equity frameworks and culturally competent program design
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex data to diverse audiences
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and interagency collaborations
- Knowledge of Kentucky's public health system and Title V/Medicaid regulations
