Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service accurately and efficiently.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to incident locations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of all communications and incident details.
- Monitor status of units in the field and coordinate resources as needed.
- Provide information and assistance to the public regarding city services and non-emergency inquiries.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new dispatch personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid Arizona Class D Driver's License at the time of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to type 35+ wpm.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under stressful conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Clear background check and successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
