Role Overview:
As a Public Safety Officer, you will be the first line of defense for our community. You will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergencies, and ensuring a safe environment for all residents and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Patrol designated beats and neighborhoods to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond to emergency calls, non-emergency requests, and assist citizens in distress.
- Prepare and file detailed incident reports and maintain accurate departmental records.
- Enforce all city ordinances and state laws fairly and consistently.
- Assist in traffic control and accident investigation when required.
- Communicate effectively with the public, other agencies, and dispatch centers.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Oklahoma Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and medical examination.
- Physical agility sufficient to perform the duties of the position, including standing, walking, and running.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
