Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas of the city on foot or vehicle to maintain order and prevent crime.
- Respond to emergency calls, including noise complaints, suspicious activities, and traffic violations.
- Write detailed and accurate incident reports and maintain logs of daily activities.
- Enforce city ordinances and state laws while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
- Assist in crowd control during public events and emergencies.
- Conduct community outreach to build trust and rapport with local residents.
- Monitor CCTV systems and access control points as directed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; Associateās or Bachelorās degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is a plus.
- Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen, and medical examination.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical fitness sufficient to perform job duties, including standing for extended periods and running during emergencies.
