Responsibilities
- Oversee municipal infrastructure projects including road maintenance, water systems, and public facilities
- Develop and manage departmental budgets exceeding $10M annually
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, NMED)
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, technicians, and administrative staff
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city council and regulatory bodies
- Implement sustainability initiatives for resource conservation
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public works crises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal government or public works
- PMP or similar project management certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software
- Knowledge of New Mexico public procurement processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
- Experience with GIS mapping and infrastructure planning tools
