Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with city ordinances and engineering plans
- Review permit applications and technical documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Investigate public complaints related to construction activities and code violations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain digital records using municipal software systems
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and community stakeholders on project compliance
- Provide technical guidance to the public regarding construction regulations and permitting processes
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or municipal code enforcement experience
- ICBO certifications in building inspection or related field required
- Proficiency with CAD software and municipal permitting systems
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong communication skills for public interactions and report writing
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and traverse construction sites
