Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of roadways, drainage systems, and public infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Review construction plans and blueprints to verify adherence to local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Utilize mobile technology and database systems to document inspection findings, report violations, and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and city officials to clarify requirements and resolve compliance issues promptly.
- Enforce safety regulations on job sites and issue necessary stop-work orders to protect public welfare and worker safety.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and site walk-throughs to identify potential issues before they escalate.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Valid Class C Texas Driverβs License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Familiarity with construction standards, blueprint reading, surveying equipment, and traffic control devices.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and technical documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
