Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction/maintenance projects to verify compliance with city codes and specifications
- Review engineering plans, blueprints, and permit applications for technical accuracy
- Document findings through detailed reports and digital documentation systems
- Investigate citizen complaints and coordinate corrective actions with contractors
- Provide technical guidance to developers, contractors, and city departments
- Assist in code enforcement procedures and maintain inspection records
- Collaborate with engineering staff on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or civil engineering experience
- Kansas State Inspector Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and GIS mapping systems
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean driving record
- Knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and ADA compliance standards
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions
