Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of public works construction projects for code compliance
- Review and approve contractor submittals, plans, and specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain project documentation
- Investigate public complaints related to construction activities
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Enforce safety standards and mitigate construction hazards
- Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and project stakeholders
Qualifications
- Five years of public works inspection experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- ICBO Plans Examiner Certification preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection databases
- Knowledge of CA Title 24 and municipal building codes
- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
