Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of municipal construction projects
- Verify compliance with engineering specifications and safety regulations
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities
- Utilize GIS mapping systems for project documentation
- Participate in emergency response infrastructure assessments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years construction inspection experience
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification
- Proficiency in CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of municipal building codes and regulations
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and navigate job sites
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must pass background check and drug screening
