Responsibilities
- Perform street maintenance including pothole repairs, pavement marking, and sidewalk repairs
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in snow removal and storm response operations during weather emergencies
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Illinois Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of construction or public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Clean driving record and ability to pass background check
