Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving for municipal infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, excavators, dump trucks) under proper supervision
- Maintain public spaces including parks, sidewalks, and storm drainage systems
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related infrastructure damage
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain equipment according to OSHA standards
- Document work progress and maintain accurate daily activity logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering and maintenance departments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and overtime as needed
