We are currently hiring for various shifts to support street maintenance, snow removal, and general infrastructure upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Perform Manual Labor: Execute a variety of manual tasks including sweeping, flushing, pothole patching, and graffiti removal.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate light to medium-duty equipment, such as asphalt distributers, rollers, and sweepers, under supervision.
- Snow and Ice Management: Assist in snowplowing, salting, and sanding city streets during winter months to ensure public safety.
- Maintenance Support: Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of public parks, alleys, and right-of-ways.
- Customer Service: Interact respectfully with the public and other city employees while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines and city protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic inspections and cleaning of assigned vehicles and equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid Minnesota Driver’s License is required.
- Physical Ability: Must be physically fit and able to perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- High School Diploma: A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or municipal work is a plus but not mandatory.
- Reliability: Demonstrated ability to be punctual, dependable, and punctilious in completing assigned tasks.
- Communication Skills: Basic verbal communication skills are necessary to interact with supervisors and the public.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
