Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including sweeping streets, cleaning storm drains, and maintaining public parks and rights-of-way.
- Assist in traffic control operations, including flagging duties and directing traffic during road maintenance projects.
- Operate and maintain light to medium-duty construction equipment, such as rollers, jackhammers, and dump trucks, under direct supervision.
- Assist in snow removal and ice control operations during winter months to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and supplies to and from job sites.
- Inspect work areas for safety hazards and report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to operate heavy machinery are a plus.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Certification in Flagging or Traffic Control is a significant advantage.
