Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for road maintenance, sewer repairs, and park infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, and asphalt compactors under supervision
- Install and maintain traffic control systems for public safety during construction zones
- Execute erosion control measures and environmental remediation protocols
- Assist in concrete pouring, grading, and underground utility installations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and municipal compliance regulations
- Document project progress and material usage in digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Valid Indiana Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool-handling experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks
- Must possess reliable transportation to various job sites across Marion County
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification a plus (training provided if needed)
