As a Public Works Laborer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the roads, parks, and utilities that keep Colorado Springs running smoothly. We are looking for candidates who are physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to learn.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery, such as loaders and backhoes, for excavation and grading tasks.
- Maintain and repair public streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Assist with seasonal projects including snow removal, landscaping, and park maintenance.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely.
- Perform manual labor duties including digging, lifting, and hauling.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow crew members to ensure project efficiency.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and safety equipment is a plus.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Willingness to work overtime and shift work as needed.
