Responsibilities
- Perform general labor tasks including excavation, hauling, and loading of construction materials.
- Assist in the maintenance of streets, alleys, sidewalks, and public right-of-ways by clearing debris and performing minor repairs.
- Operate and maintain basic construction equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist with traffic control duties, including flagging operations and the setup of temporary traffic signs.
- Install, repair, and maintain public infrastructure components such as guardrails, signs, and concrete work.
- Ensure all work sites comply with OSHA safety standards and company regulations.
- Work effectively as part of a crew under the supervision of skilled tradespeople.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform manual labor in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License is required.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is a strong plus but not mandatory.
- Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and teamwork.
- Ability to obtain a valid municipal identification card.
