Role Overview
The Public Works Laborer plays a crucial role in maintaining the city's roads, parks, and public facilities. You will work alongside skilled operators and engineers to ensure our infrastructure remains safe and accessible for everyone.
Responsibilities
- Perform general manual labor, including digging, trenching, and lifting heavy materials.
- Operate light equipment such as rollers, tampers, and skid steers.
- Assist with traffic control, flagging, and road maintenance activities.
- Clean streets, alleys, and public rights-of-way.
- Assist in the installation and repair of water, sewer, and storm drain lines.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site in compliance with OSHA regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction or public works equipment is a plus but not required.
