Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform road maintenance, street repairs, and snow removal operations
- Assist in construction projects and infrastructure inspections
- Maintain public spaces, parks, and drainage systems
- Adhere to strict safety protocols while using provided equipment
- Document work activities and submit daily progress reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional crews on city improvement projects
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Driver's License (Class B or higher preferred)
- Ability to operate heavy machinery with minimal training
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Basic understanding of blueprints and construction plans
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Clean background check and drug-free workplace compliance
