Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) for construction projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving tasks
- Conduct routine maintenance on public facilities and green spaces
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards
- Assist in emergency response during weather-related incidents
- Complete daily equipment inspection reports
- Collaborate with supervisors to prioritize project timelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years operating heavy machinery experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US
