Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-owned heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, graders)
- Perform manual labor for road construction, drainage systems, and park maintenance
- Assist in traffic control and safety zone setup during public projects
- Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs of public facilities
- Collaborate with crew leads to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean work sites
- Document daily work activities and material usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience preferred
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends during emergencies
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
