Responsibilities
- General Maintenance: Perform manual labor including digging, grading, cleaning, and maintaining public right-of-way areas and streets.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain light to medium equipment such as jackhammers, rollers, tampers, and pneumatic tools.
- Infrastructure Support: Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic signs, pavement markings, and street furniture.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work sites strictly adhere to OSHA safety standards and City of San Francisco regulations.
- Weather Response: Assist in the removal of debris, snow, and ice from sidewalks, bike lanes, and public thoroughfares during inclement weather.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and crew members to coordinate daily tasks and project goals.
- Site Preparation: Prepare sites for construction crews, including setting up barriers, cones, and signage.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- License: Valid California Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold, for extended periods.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus; willingness to be trained on specific equipment.
- Background: Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen.
- Schedule: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
