Responsibilities
- Perform Manual Labor: Excavate, load, and unload construction materials; operate heavy machinery such as jackhammers, rollers, and loaders.
- Maintain Infrastructure: Repair and maintain roads, sidewalks, curbs, and drainage structures to ensure public safety.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and departmental protocols at all times.
- Snow & Ice Removal: Clear roads and walkways during inclement weather to ensure community accessibility.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, service, and perform minor repairs on assigned equipment and tools.
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites and laying asphalt or concrete as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal public works is preferred but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Driver's License: Valid Florida Class C Driver's License is required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Tools: Familiarity with basic hand and power tools is a plus.
