Responsibilities
- Perform general construction and maintenance tasks including grading, paving, patching, and cleaning streets and alleys.
- Operate and maintain light to medium equipment such as jackhammers, rollers, tampers, and brooms.
- Assist with traffic control, flagging, and safety enforcement on active job sites.
- Maintain tools and machinery in good working condition and report needed repairs.
- Work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and cold.
- Ensure all work is completed in strict accordance with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Interact professionally with the public, contractors, and fellow team members.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required by project schedules.
- No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided for enthusiastic candidates.
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus.
