Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of manual labor tasks including road maintenance, pothole repair, and street sweeping.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Assist in snow removal and ice control operations during winter months to ensure public safety.
- Collect and dispose of trash, debris, and recycling materials from designated areas.
- Assist engineers and foremen with site preparation for construction projects.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Respond to emergency public works requests as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of construction or public works practices is a plus.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat and snow.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
