Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and landscaping for public infrastructure projects
- Operate hand/power tools and light equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain construction sites by ensuring cleanliness, safety compliance, and proper signage
- Assist skilled tradespersons with material handling, equipment setup, and project support
- Document daily work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Respond to emergency public works calls during inclement weather
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience with construction tools, machinery, or landscaping preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
