Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, grading, and excavating for construction and maintenance projects.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as dump trucks, skid steers, and jackhammers under supervision.
- Assist in the installation and repair of public infrastructure, including sidewalks, curbs, and storm drains.
- Ensure job sites are clean, safe, and free of debris at the end of each shift.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Respond to emergency call-outs for storm response and utility repairs as needed.
- Communicate effectively with crew leads and other municipal workers.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid New York State Driver's License (Class A or B preferred).
- Physical ability to perform strenuous labor in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is a plus but not required.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as project demands require.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
