Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties including excavation, grading, backfilling, and debris removal on public roadways.
- Assist in street maintenance, pothole repair, and traffic control operations.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as backhoes, bulldozers, and dump trucks, under the direct supervision of a certified operator.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site in strict compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Assist project engineers and foremen with various infrastructure development tasks, including concrete placement and utility installation.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests within the Stockton area as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) frequently throughout the shift.
- Basic knowledge of construction safety practices and the willingness to undergo a drug screen and background check.
- Physical ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; trade school certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is highly desirable.
