Key Duties:
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, and backhoes.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of municipal infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Inspect and repair water and sewer lines to ensure system integrity and public safety.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents promptly.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and departmental protocols.
- Collaborate with team members and other city departments to coordinate large-scale projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
