As a key member of our team, you will ensure the safety and functionality of Phoenix's roadways, drainage systems, and utility networks.
Responsibilities
- Perform essential maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and traffic control devices.
- Operate heavy construction equipment and machinery, including backhoes, excavators, and rollers, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Inspect and maintain drainage infrastructure, including catch basins, pipes, and flood control channels to prevent water damage.
- Install, repair, and service water mains, fire hydrants, and street lighting fixtures.
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional crews on large-scale infrastructure projects and emergency repairs.
- Document all maintenance activities and report material needs accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
