As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the city's infrastructure, ensuring safe travel for residents, and enhancing the quality of life in Dallas.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on city streets, sidewalks, and traffic signs.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, graders, and backhoes, safely and efficiently.
- Inspect infrastructure to identify potential hazards, potholes, and drainage issues requiring attention.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and citizen inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices and street lighting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is highly preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and procedures.
